Wow! How is it February already? We are still in the middle of winter weather, with more snow and bitter cold in the forecast. In fact, I did not pick up my Azure Standard Haul myself, due to snowy roads, last week.
My order was pretty basic this time. Mostly things that I have ordered previously. Some things that I needed to stock up on, etc.
If you are not familiar with Azure Standard, you can find out more about them here. But in short, they are a family owned company that specializes in high quality, non-GMO, organic foods. They cut out the middle man by shipping to drops all over the United States, which helps make quality, organic products more easily available and also affordable for you. There’s even more savings for you if you buy in bulk! Which I try to do when at all possible.
And no, this is not sponsored. Neither do I make a commission on any of these products. I just love Azure Standard.
And here goes for February 2025 Azure Standard Haul!
#1 Raw Cheddar Cheese
We love cheese on almost everything! From omelets to pizza. salad, quesadillas. Anything really! I almost always buy 10 pounds of Sierra Nevada Raw Cheddar. It is $6.57 a lb. if you buy that much, which is almost a 3rd of the price of the smaller amounts they sell. Sometimes they have it on sale as well, which helps out, too. And it lasts for a long time if you store it properly!
#2 Peanut Butter
Organic peanut butter is pretty expensive anywhere you look, but if you buy it by the case that helps cut down the price a bit. Azure Standard is usually the brand I buy, because of the price, but I have gotten a dark roasted Santa Cruz brand that was scrumptious! Although, the case of creamy salted peanut butter I bought this time was $10 cheaper than the Santa Cruz peanut butter. If you buy a case of peanut butter, the price is a bit under $6 per jar.
#3 Organic gluten-free oats
These gluten free oats are very good, inexpensive, organic quick oats. I love the price and they make excellent baked oatmeal, cooked oatmeal, or oatmeal peanut butter cookies!!!
They cost around $1.59 a lb., if you get 5 lb. And $1.30 per pound if you buy 25 pounds.
#4 Nancy’s cottage cheese
Two months ago, I randomly decided to try this cottage cheese. It is definitely not the cheapest, but it is much better for you than grocery store brands with all the added gums and unpronounceable ingredients.
Seriously, have you ever looked at the ingredient labels of cottage cheese? Something that is supposed to be as simple as milk and enzymes and salt turns into something much more complicated. The only other brand of cottage cheese I buy is Daisy’s brand. Most grocery stores carry it, and it is simply, milk, enzymes, and salt! That Simple! Walmart prices in my area are usually the best for that brand.
But the reason I got Nancy’s, again, is because my husband loved it. It is a bit more tangy than regular cottage cheese and maybe has a bit of a thicker texture.
#5 Nancy’s Sour cream
Again, not the cheapest, but I really like this brand of sour cream. I personally, think it is very affordable, especially if it is on sale.
#6 Instant Decaf Coffee
Okay, now here is where I veer totally off the crunchy mama train! My husband grew up eating coffee soup. And no, I will not be posting a recipe for it! lol! It is made with milk, instant coffee, a bit of sugar, and saltine crackers. Think a cappuccino minus the saltine crackers, of course. You pour this concoction over cake, brownies or cookies and Chow down. Or don’t! I don’t eat it, partly because I try to avoid gluten, and also it is such a high carb, sugar-laden breakfast which my waist line doesn’t need!
So yes, the decaf coffee is for that! But I have also snuck it into frozen coffee drinks! It tastes really good like that! You can find it here. And as you will see, it is decaffeinated using a natural water process, instead of conventional, chemical methods of extraction.
#7 Azure Market Organic Garlic Granules
I use garlic in almost all my cooking it seems. I prefer the granules instead of powder, because it is not as likely to get hard and clumpy the way the powder will after awhile. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have purchased these and I will definitely keep ordering it!
#8 Nancy’s organic cream cheese
Honestly, I haven’t used this, yet! But I am eager to see how it is. Not sure how I feel about it being packaged in containers?
#9 Azure Market Coconut Aminos
Another thing I attempt to avoid as much as possible is soy. This is a really good substitute for soy sauce, and can be used in the exact same way. I have found their price very reasonable and so I bought a 32 oz. bottle this time around. Find it here.
#10 Organic Broccoli Florets
This is another of my top favorites! It makes some of the best, tenderest, steamed broccoli! I usually get it in 5 or 10 pounds. I should specify that this is the frozen broccoli florets.
Even my kids love it, which always amazes me. I hated steamed broccoli when I was a kid! My mom used to steam broccoli and cauliflower and top it with a homemade cheese sauce or just with velveeta cheese. I didn’t just hate the taste, I couldn’t stand the smell of the house when she cooked it. You can be sure I complained aplenty about it. We always had to eat a few bites of it, and I would rather have puked.
A word of encouragement to moms of veggie haters. They can totally grow out of it. I am living proof. About the only cooked veggie I liked as a kid, was green beans. I was fine with it being in soup as long as they were finely diced. I did love most veggies raw with dips.
#11 Stahlbush Island riced cauliflower
Another newbie. I am back on Trim Healthy Mama. My aim is for life, at least 80 percent of the time. That seems doable. Cauli rice is a popular dish for many Trim Healthy Mamas. I have yet to try it.
#12 Diced Green Chiles
Green Chiles are good in a lot of things. Think white chicken chili, chicken enchiladas, anything mexican cuisine. Speaking of chicken enchiladas makes me hungry. I love a good burrito smothered in cheese sauce… But.. Sigh! They aren’t easy on the waist line either. Also it is hard to find a decent gluten-free low carb tortilla. Maybe I’m just too picky?
#13 Salsa Verde
Also a new thing. I have been wanting to make a salsa verde chicken recipe, which is why I bought it. I haven’t got to the recipe, but I have tried the Salsa Verde and it is really good.
I actually made a Keto chicken dish last week with some leftovers, and added a layer of salsa Verde. It was really good!
And there you have it! Another Azure Standard Haul under the belt. Hopefully, this gives you some ideas of what to shop for at Azure Standard.
